Pattern match technology uses images to distinguish good parts from bad ones. Once the image is registered, the illumination and the shape of the parts are used to automatically determine the target features to be reviewed during operation. The picture based method provides reliable detection of bad parts in the batch, when it is difficult to determine bad parts using conventional light-based detection sensors.
